This work focuses on the ecological relationships in the White Mountains of California. Bristlecone pines are the oldest trees on earth and they thrive in the harsh conditions of the White Mountains. Pikas also thrive in high elevation habitats. But as climate change warms temperatures in California, these species may be pushed beyond their capacity to adapt.
