Banana slugs live in close association with Coast Redwoods, along with a variety of moisture-loving species. The only known predator of the Banana Slug is the Pacific Giant Salamander. Azalea, Fetid Adder's Tongue, and Hermit Thrushes all share the damp understory of the redwood forest.
