This work focuses on the ecological relationships in the grasslands of the California Coast. Gray Foxes and Long-tailed Weasels stalk the grasslands for a wide variety of prey, while White-tailed Kites hover overhead searching for meadow voles. Giant Chinquapin and Yerba Santa stand along the meadow edges while Golden Hairstreak butterflies seek both nectar and host plants for their caterpillars.
